Gua Sha

Gua Sha Add-On Service

Also known as “scraping” or “spooning,” Gua Sha is a technique widely used in Chinese Medicine.

Gua Sha is an effective approach to breaking up tough muscle adhesions and scar tissue that can result from long-term muscle stress, surgery, or injury. Various types of tools can be used in this process, creating friction to help break up adhesions in muscle tissue.

After the technique is used, there can be mild red spots, or “petechiae,” or darker red streaks in the tissue. These can last several days or longer, depending on the severity of the tissue in that area. This is not to be confused with bruising.
